Nigerian fashion entrepreneur and founder of Tiannah’s Empire, Toyin Lawani, has sparked conversations online after speaking about the rising cost of living and growing concerns over insecurity in the country.
The fashion icon shared her frustrations while reflecting on the cost of buying suya, a popular grilled meat delicacy, and how increasing prices are affecting everyday life for many Nigerians.
Concerns over rising living costs
According to her, she recently spent N17,000 on suya but received only a small quantity in return, highlighting what she described as the worsening impact of inflation on households and businesses.
Her comments come amid continued public discussions about the rising prices of food, transportation, and other essential commodities across the country.
Many Nigerians have taken to social media in recent months to express concerns about the economic challenges facing families and small business owners.
“I bought Suya 17k and they gave me 11 squares cube pieces, 5k cannot even cook soup for a family anymore, there’s no way your staff or anyone won’t st£al from you this time, something needs to be done asap cos people will soon start entering each others houses to st£al “
