“How Come?” – VeryDarkMan’s NGO Account Balance Sparks Reactions Online

Fresh concerns have emerged over the remaining balance in the NGO account of popular social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, better known as VeryDarkMan (VDM).

The debate began after a Facebook user, Ekwutosi Oke C AdaNsukka, shared a screenshot purportedly showing the financial summary of the NGO account.

According to the screenshot, a total of ₦691,609,964.78 had been credited to the account, while ₦671,770,394.14 had reportedly been spent, leaving a balance of ₦19,939,570.64.

Expressing surprise at the amount left in the account, the Facebook user questioned the figures, triggering widespread reactions from social media users.

The development has renewed public interest in VDM’s NGO, which gained significant attention in October 2024 after renowned music producer Don Jazzy donated ₦100 million to support its activities.

At the time, VeryDarkMan had initially called on Zenith Bank to investigate the transaction, expressing concerns that it could be linked to money laundering or an attempt to set him up. However, he later shared a message from Don Jazzy confirming that the donation was genuine and intended to support the NGO's mission.

Meanwhile, VDM has remained active in social advocacy. Earlier this year, he led a large-scale protest in Ibadan, Oyo State, calling on the government to take decisive action over the abduction of schoolchildren and teachers in Orire Local Government Area.

The demonstration saw hundreds of residents march through major roads, carrying placards and chanting solidarity songs while demanding improved security and stronger protection for citizens.

However, VeryDarkMan expressed dissatisfaction with the pace of the rescue operation, insisting that urgent action was needed to secure the victims' release.

“Enough is enough. Our children cannot be taken from classrooms and we keep acting like it’s normal,” he said.
